Saint-Malo is famous for its Corsair City, synonymous with adventure, travel and dreams. Appointed "chief engineer and director of the fortifications of Saint-Malo" by Vauban, Garangeau built the citadel on a rock in the middle of the sea. An essential French port in the 17th and 18th centuries, Saint-Malo became the cradle of corsairs and great men. Climb the ramparts of Saint-Malo, 1754 meters long and immerse yourself in the unofficial motto "Ni français, ni breton, malouin suis".
